RANTHAMBORE , The land of tigers.

 RANTHAMBORE

On the land of palaces and forts Ranthambore National Park  is the place where history meets wildlife.

The Ranthambore forest better known as Ranthambore national park got his name from 10th centuary built Ranthambore  fort sisuated in the middle of forest of Swaimadhopur district of Rajasthan state in India.

The main attractions of this place is crocodile filled lakes  , 320 species of birds , 40 species of mammals and 35 species of raptiles out of which the stars of these diverse species are CHITAL , LANGUR , NILGAI  and most importantly

THE ROYAL BENGAL TIGERS.



  • The Royal Bengal Tigers
    According to the tiger census of 2014 there are 64 tigers , most of them are used to human presence , some of them also poses for the  photographers and the tourists.
    Machli  aka T-16, the most lovable and  the most popular tiger of this forest , her poses for the observers and photographers gains her popularity. She also got featured in  National Award winner movie " The world's most famous tiger " .Unfortunately the most photographed tiger  was died on 18th August 2016.
    Her granddaughter T-73 give birth to the 3 cubs in 2019.
    Other famous tigers here are Romeo(t-6) , he was named so because of his flirting nature  with Laila(T-41) who in turn flirts him back.


  • Every tiger in Ranthambore has a story behind his/her name like one more famous tiger Dollar(T-25) was named because of the dollar sign on his stomach.
    Some other famous tigers are_ Ustad, Mala , Sitara.

  • Chital
    Chital also known as the spotted deer can be easily seen everywhere in the forest . These deers are generally found in the heard of 20 to 40 at a time  and are the main source of nutrition for the tigers. In numbers they are the maximum  having a count of more then 10000 in Ranthambore.


  • Nilgai
    Nilgai is an indian species of antilopes also has a name Blue Bull. These are the Indian species found mainly in Western part of India (Rajasthan).


Crocodiles
There are few lakes in this National park filled with crocodiles . The teaths of these crocodiles shed every year  . The length and strucutre of these crocodiles also holds the great attraction point in Ranthambore .
                                                

Other then this you can find lots of peacocks and common langurs and various other common animals and birds including turtles.
                                            


TIGER SAFARI
With the beauty in the forest  , the tigers and other wild animals in this national park also makes it the dangerous place to  roam around there .
For the safty of tourists 12 different routs have been set up there  in the park . with each route covering minimum of 2 territories of tigers.
you are allowed to roam in  any of the  routes after taking the permissions from the park authorities with proper safety.
You will be allowed to roam  in the forest  with the jeep with forest rangers and ofcouse you are not allowd to get out from the jeep.



EXPERIENCE
Overall i can say that  trip to Ranthambore was a thrilling experience  .  I was so amazed  to see that tigers  are walking around you jeeps and the deers are racing with you  in the middle of the forests . All i can say is that it is really a worth  place  for  all the wildlife enthusiast and travel lovers.
